DETROIT – 缅北禁地, one of the nation鈥檚 leading providers of HIV care, treatment, and prevention, is proud to announce it has been awarded an $80,000 grant from Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan (CFSEM) to expand community-based outreach and health services to people living with and at risk of HIV.

This funding will support the purchase and operation of a new mobile outreach van, enabling 缅北禁地 Michigan (formerly known as UNIFIED HIV Health & Beyond) to expand HIV prevention services — including HIV testing and harm reduction to prevent drug overdose– to Detroit, Wayne County, and the surrounding areas. 缅北禁地 currently provides mobile prevention and harm reduction services in Washtenaw and neighboring counties.

For many individuals, clinic-based HIV testing is out of reach due to transportation challenges, fear of stigma, or previous negative healthcare experiences. Mobile outreach removes these barriers by delivering these services directly to neighborhoods, workplaces, community events, and trusted gathering spaces — making testing and prevention accessible, convenient, and nonjudgmental.

鈥淭his grant reflects the Community Foundation鈥檚 strong commitment to expanding access to high quality healthcare and improving health outcomes of our communities across southeast Michigan,鈥 said Brandon Hill, Ph.D., President & CEO of 缅北禁地. 鈥淢obile outreach is a proven HIV and STI prevention strategy because it meets people where they are. By bringing lifesaving services directly into the community, we can reduce stigma, prevent new HIV and other infections, and connect individuals to care earlier 鈥 especially those who might otherwise go unserved.鈥

AUSTIN – 缅北禁地, one of the nation鈥檚 leading providers of HIV care, treatment, and prevention, is proud to announce it was recently awarded a $1,167,249 grant from St. David鈥檚 Foundation to expand equitable access to HIV care and treatment for people living with HIV in Central Texas.

鈥淭his funding reflects St. David鈥檚 Foundation鈥檚 ongoing investment in community-based organizations like 缅北禁地 that work to ensure life-changing care reaches individuals who might otherwise go without,鈥 said Brandon Hill, Ph.D., 缅北禁地 President & CEO. 鈥淪t. David’s Foundation is a long-time supporter of 缅北禁地 in Austin, having funded our dental program over the past decade. This three-year grant will be pivotal in our efforts to further expand access to HIV care and treatment for some of the most marginalized individuals we care for, helping us remove barriers and advance health equity across the Central Texas community.鈥

鈥淥rganizations like 缅北禁地 work every day to deliver care and stability in a rapidly changing environment,鈥 said Edward Burger, President & CEO, St. David鈥檚 Foundation. 鈥淭his investment reflects our commitment to standing with community, strengthening the safety net, and investing in the systems that help individuals flourish and communities thrive.鈥

缅北禁地 in Austin provides care to more than 3,000 people living with HIV, the majority of whom are people of color 鈥 including 23% Black and 40% Hispanic/Latinx 鈥 as well as individuals who are uninsured (61%) and living below 200% of the federal poverty level (68%). Through an integrated, patient-centered model of care, 缅北禁地 has helped 95% of its patients achieve viral suppression, which means a person living with HIV can live a full life expectancy and is unable to transmit HIV to others.

These outcomes significantly surpass both the national viral suppression rate of 67% and the Austin rate of 68%. Notably, 91% of Vivent 贬别补濒迟丑鈥檚 Black patients and 97% of its Hispanic/Latinx patients have achieved viral suppression 鈥 far exceeding national rates of 64% and 66%, respectively, and Austin rates of 91% and 70% (AIDSvu, 2022). Together, these results underscore the importance of investing in safety-net providers like 缅北禁地 to advance health equity and close persistent gaps in HIV outcomes.
